Blue Cross offers two insurance products to suit different travellers and situations:

Blue Cross Travel Insurance

Blue Cross Travel Insurance is for Canadian residents travelling outside their home province or abroad. It provides up to $5,000,000 in emergency medical coverage, plus optional trip cancellation and interruption, accidental death or dismemberment (AD&D up to $300,000), and baggage coverage. Coverage is available as a single trip or annual multi-trip plan, both backed by 24/7 Blue Cross Travel Assistance.

Available plans

• Single-Trip — Choose from one or more coverages including emergency medical, trip cancellation, AD&D, and baggage for a single trip of any length.
• Multi-Trip Annual — Covers all trips outside your province of residence for one full year. Choose your maximum trip length: 4, 8, 17, 31, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 days. Age limit: 85 and under (up to 120-day trips) or 80 and under (150–180-day trips).

Blue Cross Visitors to Canada Insurance

Blue Cross Visitors to Canada Insurance provides emergency medical coverage for people who are not enrolled in a Canadian provincial health care plan — including visitors, immigrants and permanent residents awaiting provincial coverage, foreign workers and students, super visa applicants and holders, and Canadians returning home after a long absence. Coverage amounts of $50,000, $100,000, or $150,000 are available, with policies purchasable for up to 365 days.
